This was effective on Friday, 3/13, at 6pm …
MRB3/LL will remain locked and available by card access only for at least the next two weeks. To be clear, everyone will need to carry their VU IDs going forward in order to get into the building day or night. This action will help ensure the safety of our essential staff and Faculty who must continue to work in the building and to protect our property.

Subject: MRB3/LL Card Access Restriction Effective at 6:00 PM Tonight
Importance: High
Dear Faculty in MRB3/LL,
The Interim-Chancellor and Provost sent a communication to us this afternoon which announced that Vanderbilt University was instituting an initial remote work period beginning on Monday, March 16th, through Friday, March 27th. As a result, our labs and administrative offices will begin to have reductions in work force. In addition, Suzie’s Café will be closing. Effective at 6:00 PM tonight, MRB3/LL will remain locked and available by card access only for at least the next two weeks. To be clear, everyone will need to carry their VU IDs going forward in order to get into the building day or night. This action will help ensure the safety of our essential staff and Faculty who must continue to work in the building and to protect our property. Please forward this to your staff, students and other individuals who you determine would need this information but are not included on the email thread.
Tonight, I am posting signs in the elevator bays and at key entrances which will contain my contact information. If there are individuals who have a true business need but cannot get into the building, they will have a way to request it from me. My office telephone number is forwarded to my cell phone 24/7 (see below). If you have questions that cannot wait to be returned by email, please feel free to call me.
Best regards,
Anthony
